If you're living with the loss of one or more teeth, it is essential to consider tooth replacement to protect your dental health and overall well-being. Dental implants are an excellent choice for tooth replacement because they restore your roots and teeth. Here's your complete step-by-step guide to dental implants at Cameron Village Dentistry

Step #1 — The Initial Evaluation

Dr. Turner, your trusted dental professional, plays a pivotal role in determining your suitability for dental implants. During the initial evaluation, he gathers information about your dental health and condition to ensure you have enough healthy bone structure to support a tooth implant. Using an exam, x-rays, photos, and 3-D imaging, he creates your customized treatment plan and pre-plans your implant placement surgery if you're a suitable candidate.

If your bone structure is not sufficient to support the implants, Dr. Turner may recommend a bone grafting procedure. This procedure is designed to rebuild your bone structure, ensuring it's strong enough to support the implants and thereby increasing the success rate of your dental implant treatment.

You will leave your initial evaluation with a clear understanding of your treatment plan details, the timeline for finishing your tooth implants, and the cost.

Step #2 — Implant Placement

Dr. Turner uses state-of-the-art technology to plan your implant placement surgery, ensuring accuracy, precision, and a seamless procedure.

After a successful implant placement procedure, the biocompatible implants will take three to six months to fully heal and integrate with your bone. Dr. Turner will monitor your healing and integration process during this time.

Step #3 — Restoration

When your implant is fully integrated with your bone, it's ready to support your new restoration. If we replace one tooth, this might be a porcelain crown or two to six implants supporting a dental bridge or denture if we need to restore multiple missing teeth or an entire arch.
